Nice to meet you!

I’m a developmental editor and publishing consultant finishing my PhD in Romance Studies at Cornell University.

I started this editorial business because I enjoy helping authors think through big questions and find the most compelling version of their text. I was also inspired by a need in the early-career academic community for more guidance around writing and publishing for a professional career in the humanities.

Unlike many large editing businesses today, I do not employ others to do the editing work I promise to you. The benefit of working with an individual editor like me is that you know exactly who is working on your text, which means you have a direct line of contact if you have questions or need further advice.

I offer dedicated attention to my clients, one-on-one meetings, and no outsourcing of editing. I do everything by myself and if I can’t, I recommend other editors that I trust to fill the gap.

I’m a trained literary critic and spend my time as a doctoral candidate analyzing rhetoric, argument construction, characterization, gender dynamics, and dialogue in early to mid-twentieth century Italian novels.

As such, I see more than just the apparent meaning of a paragraph, sentence, or word. I question the possible implications and significances of each element of a text to ensure its clarity and efficacy.

Purposeful prose serves the ideas, the readers, and, in so doing, the author who brings them together.
